Features: Its got 64 built in voices. The grand paino sound is very good and
lifelike, with Kawai's harmonic imaging sampling as a fantastic alternative to
Yamaha's velocity sampling system. It also has sustain pedal and sympathetic
resonation samples. The electric piano and organ samples are alright, but if
you're serious about electric piano and organ, you can always buy a rack mount
midi device. Keep in mind that this thing has NO ONBOARD SPEAKERS, so get a
quality keyboard amp, preferably two, if you have the money, so you can do it in
stereo! Furthermore, the interface is incredibly easy to understand, just read
the manual and play with it for half an hour. Also, it looks really sharp! all
the knobs and levels make it a little retro. Quality: The thing is built as
solid as a brick. I mean really, its encased in steel! Its a bit heavy, about 45
pounds, but its not as hefty as the Yamaha p240, so hey, don't complain. The
sustain pedal that goes with it is kind of lame: too springy. So if i were you,
id get one of the Yamaha FC-4's along with it.
Value: Well, ill try to put it in terms of the most popular rivaling brand:
Yamaha. Its like doubly as good as a P-90 for about the same price. Expanding on
that, id say that most of the voices on it are better, especially the Grand
piano sound, not to mention it has many more. It also has many more features,
such as layering and splitting, which can really come in handy.
Overall: If you're a gigging musician and you're going to take this thing up
on stage and put on a show, its going to serve you much better than much else
out there. the action is better than you'll find anywhere. Period. The sounds
are great, and its rock solid. If you're a hobbyist, get something that's geared
towards you, like the Yamaha P-140. If you're a classical musician, what are you
doing here? Get a Bosendorfer! But i'm telling you right now, if you're going to
get up there and play rock, jazz, blues, or anything like that, this instrument
will be a purchase you will never regret... RogerDodger |

The Kawai MP4 is a dream. After months of trying out new boards (Rolands,
Yamaha, Korg even the Nord's), nothing touches the Kawai. This is the most
dynamic and comfortable digital piano I have ever played. Plays like a acoustic
grand....so sweet! The setup and functionality of this piano is extremely easy.
You will NOT be disappointed if this is your next purchase. There is nothing
better! OWGJay |

After much comparison shopping, I was looking for a professional
stage piano that simply does a good piano, Rhodes, and B3.
Everything else is gravy. This piano is rugged and roadworthy and
has great sounds. Weighted hammer action is superb and extremely
dynamic. Splits, effects, and layering all very easy to use. The
unit has a real power cord and no wall wart, yeah!
